[Dedicated Short Range Communications]
DSRC is a short range communication standard at 5,8GHz. It enables data to be exchanged between fixed devices and mobile transponders over short distances. This technique is particularly used for electronic contactless toll collection purposes. However, it may be used within other contexts such as traveller information.
